Absolutely! Plymouth has a range of excellent dance studios and rehearsal spaces that are regularly used by local, regional and national choreographers and Dance companies including Matthew Bourne and New Adventures, Rambert, Hofesh Shechter, Theo Clinkard, and James Wilton …other celebrity visitors to Plymouth include Wayne Sleep, Jonzi D, and dancers from Flawless and Diversity to name but a few.
As a not-for-profit Social Enterprise we are not core funded. 80% of PD’s turnover is spent on project delivery costs with only 20% on operating costs. Each PD project is co designed to meet your requirements so you will receive a personalised quote for the cost of its delivery.
Because we are a social enterprise; we earn money that we then reinvest in dance projects and the dance community in the city.
Plymouth Dance was commissioned by Plymouth City Council to provide dance performances by local dance artists as part of The Olympic Torch relay show on The Hoe on the 19th of May 2012 to an audience of more than 55,000! The biggest participation event we have organised involved 7,000+ performing the same dance, on the same day, at the same time, to the same piece of music as part of Plymouth Dance Explosion funded by Dance4Life as part of Change4Life.
